Training, qualifications and experience
I am currently training on a BA (Hons) Counselling course at Waverley Abbey College. I intend to achieve a level 5 Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling in July 2018. I have been gaining counselling experience over the past two years, counselling adults.
About the way I work
The counselling model I use is an Integrative one, which combines several approaches so that counselling can be tailored to a person’s individual needs. I believe that building a trusting alliance is a key component in facilitating constructive change.
My background is in Primary Education and particularly Special Educational Needs. My hope is to provide counselling support for both parents and teachers as well as offering inclusive counselling to all.
I am a student Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I also endorse the Ethics and Practice of the Association of Christian Counsellors. As a trainee counsellor, I receive appropriate levels of Supervision.
I hold a current Level 2 Emergency First Aid At Work Certificate, through Train Aid (www.train-aid.co.uk/courses/emergency-first-aid-at-work).
